Returning to JD Flooring Ltd, the client, an avid collector of high-end sports cars, had constructed a new garage in rural Cheshire.
This bespoke space, approximately 90m2, was intended to house and showcase the latest additions to his collection.
The client sought another high-quality resin floor finish, consistent with the excellence observed in his previous garage project.
Assessment and Recommendation
Upon conducting moisture testing on the newly laid concrete substrate, JD Flooring Ltd confirmed that the moisture levels were suitable for flooring installation.
We recommended the same coating system used previously, confident in its performance and aesthetic appeal for this specific setting.
The recommended resin flooring solution was a resin high build product, which would deliver the seamless, prefect finish sought by the client, subject to professional preparation being carried out. This process would be able to deliver a finish and durability typically associated with far more expensive resin flooring solution.

The Preparation and Repair
The preparation involved using a single head grinder for the main area, with handheld grinders for detailed edge work. The team meticulously cleaned the area, repairing and filling any imperfections to create the perfect surface for the resin flooring installation.
Installation Details
The initial step in the installation process was the application of the epoxy high build resin coating. Squeegees were used for larger areas and were subsequently back rolled to ensure a uniform application. In more confined spaces, our team utilised rag rollers and paint brushes.
After this, a second coat was applied, which incorporated a light aggregate scatter in the high-traffic zones. This addition was crucial to enhance slip resistance and to align with health and safety standards.
