The Client's Challenge
A key player in the global market, this Leicester-based timber truss and components manufacturer faced a specific challenge within their facility.
Prioritising operator safety, they required Health & Safety demarcation walkways, signage, and lines around two large truss beds.
The project involved installing epoxy resin demarcation across an area of 120m2. This was essential not just for compliance with safety standards but also for enhancing the functional efficiency of their workspace.

Our role extended beyond just installation; we were partners in their ongoing mission to bolster health and safety.
Recognising the importance of consistency, our plan included repeating a previously successful strategy, involving the use of corporate-approved RAL colours for demarcation. This was in line with the group’s long-established benchmarks and standards.

Preparation and Repair
Preparation is key to any successful flooring project. Our team employed diamond tip grinders and handheld grinders, tailored for precise and efficient surface treatment.
These tools were particularly effective in navigating tight spaces.
Alongside grinding, minor repairs were undertaken to ensure a smooth and even finish across the entire area, setting a perfect foundation for the subsequent coating application.
Installation Process
Upon completing the preparation and repair phase, we embarked on the installation process. The team applied two coats of fast-cure Polyaspartic coating to the designated machine bed areas.
The second coat was augmented with a small aggregate, a measure designed to minimise slips and trips – a critical consideration in an industrial setting. Each coating phase was followed by a meticulous 90-minute waiting period to ensure optimal adherence and effectiveness.
Demarcation Process
The final step involved the strategic placement of 100mm yellow demarcation lines around the perimeter. This included the installation of ‘KEEP CLEAR’ signage at the ends of the beds, a crucial addition for maintaining safety and clear operational boundaries within the facility.
